Three individuals have been arrested in dawn raids in Gorton today (Tuesday) as part of a study into 21 situations of dating application fraud over the area.
Two guys aged 35 and 41 plus one girl aged 35 had been arrested on suspicion of fraudulence offences.
The warrants had been performed at three details across Gorton included in Greater Manchester Police’s process Sunbird, created by the force’s professional Fraud research device.
The fraudulence crimes had been committed between October 2018 and March 2020 across better Manchester, where suspects posed as females on dating and apps that are messaging coax individuals into having to pay a large amount of cash into a banking account.
When the target has made one payment, the suspect would content then demand more cash and jeopardize all of them with physical physical physical violence.
